Decentralized Control Strategy for Participation of Electric Vehicles in Distribution Voltage Control

With the accelerating transportation electrification, increasing numbers of electric vehicles (EVs) are connected to distribution networks via vehicle charging stations (EVCSs). Due uncertain behaviors EV users, concentrated high-power during peak hours can result in significant undervoltage issues, affecting regular operation and having detrimental effects on charging. Conventional scheduling methods conducted a centralized way, requiring extensive investment communication infrastructure intensive computing power. Accordingly, this paper proposes novel decentralized voltage control scheme with participation EVs EVCSs. The proposed first divides network into clusters based modified modularity index. Then, it applies rolling optimization-based EVCSs within each cluster solve regional problems. optimization window length is self-adapted monitored states grid-connected Case studies show that strategy could effectively address violation issues alleviate pressure shaving hours, while satisfying requirements users.
